WAR IS BY GEORGE LIPPONER B-1-7
WAR IS ........
War is a time, a place, an event,
It is not a joy a smile can invent
War is unseen peace though one's heart cries,
Never a starlight in one's eyes.
War finds its way to grief and sorrows,
It accents the yesterdays, the now and the tomorrows.
War tugs at the heart, soul and emotions,
It will live in memories, plans and devotions
War is might, never gentle or kind,
It is a stabilizer that will make men bind.
War never pretends, wears no disguises,
It takes one deeper than oceans, higher than skies.
War is spilled blood and psychic shrapnel,
And for some the sound of the final bugle.
Ware educes the spirit in you and me,
Asks for courage to further democracy.
War brings, then breaks the barriers of distrust and fear,
But, it is life's freeway to all we hold dear.
War is all this and much, much more,
And, it has molded men of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Roll Call - George R. Lipponer B Co. ROLL CALL There was once a roster of men I once knew as if written in a book. And every Veteran's day I seem to take a look.
And that is when I realize that these names surely stand apart; Not only on the Marble they're etched upon but on my very heart.
All these names stand for men who had deeply touched our lives at some time And in that meeting they remain the heartbeat of this rhyme.
I never feel really composed of each remembered name; My life is much sadder now than it was before into my life you came.
For once you have known someone the years can not erase; the memory of the struggle we had or your once so youthful face. George R. Lipponer B-1-7 ________________________________
